libmp3 ???
mp3lib or maybe libMP3 but i prefer the former.
libmp3 is misleading, and there is libmpeg3 which is totaly different thing
and NOT used by mplayer since mpg12play 0.3 :)

> +    \-afm ffmpeg     use ffmpeg's decoder (mp1/2/3)
maybe mention libavcodec here, like
use ffmpeg's libavcodec

> +    \-afm liba52     use liba52 (ac3)
> +    \-afm libvorbis  use libvorbis

these examples has no much sense, as they are th only options to decode this
kind of streams.
i would only mention ffmpeg, and acm/dshow here, the others are usually
the default so using with -afm has no any use.
