Why not simply change etc/inttypes.h to

  #include <sys/bitypes.h>

and remove etc/inttypes.h.link?  Now we have another file and a copy
and rename procedure instead of just copy.  Besides, etc/inttypes.h
was claimed to be only useful for libc5 systems, apparently this is
not the case, so why keep it?
