Ah, what an entertaining evening we are having :-)

the stage:	#mplayerdev
the time:	tonight
the cast:
	dalias		Rich
	a_tv		Arpi
	Darcia		Gabu
	DonDiego	himself

dalias	arrrg wtf
dalias	diego
dalias	you cvs removed the man page
dalias	so all the history is lost
Darcia	aaargh.
dalias	you should have gotten arpi to mv the files instead!!
a_tv	i gues she copied first
a_tv	otherwise i'll kill kim
Darcia	or me
a_tv	(or kill bill)
Darcia	i'll kill him too
Darcia	;)
a_tv	he can do it too
a_tv	head 1.31;
a_tv	access;
a_tv	symbols
a_tv	g2:1.28
a_tv	v0_1:1.28
a_tv	mplayer-0_90-rc2:1.18
a_tv	mplayer0_90_pre10:1.18;
Darcia	afraid to check -cvslog
Darcia	;)
a_tv	locks; strict;
a_tv	comment @.\" @;
a_tv	seem she did it right
a_tv	but cp on server is invisible to cvslog list
dalias	gabu, lots of "DELETED" messages...
Darcia	rotfl
DonDiego	i copied and cvs removed of course, just like arpi told me last time around ..
dalias	ah ok
Darcia	ah ok.
a_tv	dalias: he did it right. first cp on server to new dir, then cvs remove from old locatuion. RTFM cvs-howto
Darcia	;)
dalias	i thought cvs-howto said to mv
dalias	rather than cp-and-remove
Darcia	i always mv ;)
a_tv	mv has a side effect
a_tv	if you checkout older versions (by date) th file will disappear
dalias	what?
dalias	ah
dalias	i see
dalias	thats bad, yeah
a_tv	if you cp + cvs remve, the file will be at 2 locations when checkout old
a_tv	its bad too, but maybe a little bit less bad

This is what I did, as instructed some time ago by Arpi when I did a
similar thing:

diego at mail:~$ tail .bash_history
cd /var/cvsroot/mplayer/main/DOCS/
ls
ls man/
cp de/mplayer.1,v man/de/
cp en/mplayer.1,v man/en/
cp es/mplayer.1,v man/es/
cp fr/mplayer.1,v man/fr/
cp hu/mplayer.1,v man/hu/
cp pl/mplayer.1,v man/pl/
cp zh/mplayer.1,v man/zh/

Move on, nothing to be seen here, no bits were harmed tonight.

Diego
