s: mv Attic/file file
s: rm newname
c: cvs up
c: cvs admin -o...
s: cp -a file newname
c: cvs up

or sth like that
and i really hate to fix other ppl's stupid mistakes, especially
after they accepted the cvs-howto.txt rules and got cvs access...
