Hi, I received that email from Edouard Gomez, how'd like to explain how
he feels about what's happening here (he's not subscribed to -cvslog).

Hello,

You (mplayer devs) proved to me many times you have no
interest in the xvid module, the only feedback i ever got from
you was blah blah WE do things like that, conform or WE throw
it to /dev/null, and in the end you don't even look at the
interesting bits.

As i see your rules are still so strict that you would die
before even accepting reasonable patches from the author of
the module and moreover one of the main xvid hackers.

The only rule my module breaks is rule 4. And that's the only
argument you have to refuse it as is. All the changes do have
a meaning to me, like eg: making the code similar for both
transcode/mplayer modules, so i can sync things more easily.
You consider that being cosmetic, i call that maintainability.
Are you really wanting to limit user experience with xvid, and
harden my work for really no good reason but a stupid rule
that is not even applied to all mplayer code... you do copy
libavcodec just as is (cosmetic changes or not), i request
ve_xvid4.c to be treated the exact same way.

Now i request you guys to be nicer with Guillaume, he's trying
to do the proxy because i refuse to loose my time discussing tab/var
name
changes with you (and i'm not good at that as i'm writing this
email). Maybe he lacks technical skills, but at least he's doing
what you guys refuse to do since i annoyed iive to upload
v(d|e)_xvid4.c 10 months ago... that is: maintain the xvid module.

So now for my name sake on top of the xvid module file,
respect my work and accept the patches as they are.

PS: CC me anwsers because i'm not subscribed to mplayer's lists
as i have only interest in them as a reader and i use gmane to
follow mplayer dev.
