Will it in fact work even if the said streams are muxed properly, i.e.
in interleaved chunks, rather than as one contiguous block per stream? I
don't know of any examples of such, but the author of the program in
question has said that it should be possible, he just hasn't done it.

Also, unless people think it should be considered obvious, it might be
worth noting that it dumps the stream *both* to stdout and to an
extension-altered version of the source filename - especially depending
on what it does if the latter file already exists (I haven't tested and,
at present am too lazy to read the source to check). I'm not entirely
sure why it would make sense for the script to do both of those, in that
if one wants to dump the text to a file one probably doesn't want to see
it on stdout and that it is easily possible to redirect stdout into a
file, but who am I to complain when I asked for the thing?
