But seriously, I think there has to be made a decision on the 
numberingscheme. When I recently told somebody a new release was coming up, 
the first response was: what's it called? Not pre8 isn't it? OMG et cetera.

Maybe we could make a list of possible new schemes first and then just have 
the people in the maintainers and authors files vote on that? If at least 
we can agree on that, I offer to collect the different options for a period 
of time, start the voting procedure and count the votes afterwards.
