Whether or not your claim that changing attitudes would make it easier
is true, your evidence has nothing to do with developer attitudes. The
only thing that would have made it faster and easier for Monty to get
his code into MPlayer would be for him to fix his attitude (and his
code) or for developer to start accepting horrible hacks into the
codebase. No one was rude to him; we were exceedingly helpful and
spent a great deal of time discussing with him what was needed to make
the code work and to get it into an acceptable form.
