er, i forgot... the vfw codecs in the essential codec pack
were tested with -xvfwopts codec= and the ones that worked 
were documented on
http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/HTML/en/menc-feat-video-for-windows.html
which does not list any of the .drv files.

Gianluigi wrote vfw2menc specifically for vp6vfw.dll ...
so any other codecs that work are a side effect :)
