This is not exactly true, mans complained about the index/indices change
in ffmpeg and i was not truly happy about it either. Sure this is largely
bikeshed but
its certainly far from just "a certain person"
and IMHO Xvid vs. XviD is a bigger thing than indices vs. indexes

american vs. british english was discussed on the ffmpeg ML before any
changes where commited. No flames, no problem, everyone was happy ...
the xvid spelling was just discussed on mplayer-docs and missed by many

Besides even after the flamefest, i still honestly do not know if its now
XviD or Xvid that is the proper spelling. I think this part should be
discussed more instead of the "iam correct you are wrong pisscontest".

You dont want flames, but then why do you provocate iive?
If id call you hypocrite you would be pissed ;)
So why call iive a dog? Even with ";)" it can be misunderstood as an insult.
Even if not by iive, do you want new developers to get the message that
unwanted developers are insulted like that? It could drive new developers
away if one would apply your logic about new devel behaviour ...
