Sorry for being late. Yes, it should be, it should not break anything,
the worst case is that instead of not playing at all some DVDs now play
un-decrypted video (though dvdcss should be able to brute-force it
anyway).
I also think that this might fix some weird behaviour in that a dd copy
from am encrypted DVD might play but after burning it it will stop
working, but I did not actually test that...
