Hey Diego! (yes, I'm still reading cvslog ;) )

I think something went wrong with that:

> $ ./configure 
> mkdir: cannot create directory `/mplayer-configure-21247-1561': Permission denied

> Error: Unable to create tmpdir.

> Check "" if you do not understand why it failed.

Before that commit, all temporary files were successfully created in /tmp.
