Maybe I wasn't clear. I should have written:
  The strings are used by *some* other demuxers...
For example, the MSGTR_SubtitleID is only used by demux_mov (which is
not the prefered demuxer for mov).
So the strings are still needed to not break compilation, but that don't
mean that they should be used as a model in every demuxers.
