When you are awake, could you look at (one of) these sample from
samples.mplayerhq.hu/archive/all?
mpeg+h264+ac3-mp2+dvdsub+H264_Progressive_Problem_1.vdr
mpeg+h264+ac3-mp2++H264_Spatial_Issues_1.vdr
mpeg+h264+mp2++H264_Spatial_Issues_2.vdr

They are all auto-detected by the mpeg-ps demuxer (which may not have always
been the case), but they are all audio-only, because the mpeg-ps demuxer refuses
to play h264.
