I only ave bad memories about gettext - it caused many compile errors and
problems even on linux ;(
Mplayer has no so much text as KDE or openoffice, so i think there is no
real need of such change. at least not now.
mplayer was built 'keep it simple' way.
i want to avoid unneeded dependency on various libs.
