There are/were a few codecs that came with NT Alpha and
the few releases of Media Player that were Alpha native.
The last dates on the native files I have are from 1999.
By that time FX!32 handled (sometimes slowly) the running of
the x86 code on the Alpha.  For instance, Indeo 5 and Quicktime 4 & 5
could be played pretty well after a few translation passes with
FX!32.

I played around with the Alpha binaries of real player a couple
of months ago.  I could get sound to work, but not the video.
I do recall having to make a kludge to mplayer to get the library
to load because of broken glibc compatiblilty with atexit.
