I have a better idea:

Why not use a script to generate the .c and .h files for the pci
stuff in CVS and distribute the generated files in the release.

Someone who uses CVS should be able to install a proper awk or
perl, but the "normal" users who are just using the releases 
dont have to worry about it.

Any Comments ?
