no.
% mplayer -vo x11 -xy 2 -zoom XXX.avi
does not change the window size, too.

Without my patch, 
% mplayer -vo x11 XXX.avi
% mplayer -vo x11 -xy 2 XXX.avi
% mplayer -vo x11 -xy 2 -zoom XXX.avi
These three commands are identical and
make the same size(320x240) window and
no scaling occurs.

With my patch,
% mplayer -vo x11 XXX.avi
makes 320x240, no scaling window,
% mplayer -vo x11 -xy 2 XXX.avi
makes 640x480, no scaling(video output is centered) window,and
% mplayer -vo x11 -xy 2 -zoom XXX.avi
makes 640x480, software scaling video output.
