One problem you will run into.  NT4 can only use directx UP TO v 3.1 (I may be wrong on subversion, but I know you can only update to 3.x)  9x, ME, W2K and XP are not limited to this, so it *is* likely to work on those.  Just thought I might let you know before-hand :)

As for the 'redundancy' of the doc I wrote:
I am 90% user, 10% devlpr at this time, so I wrote it from that perspective.  You are right, a tech-doc should be more concise, which is why I am currently working on changing that to a 'User'-space doc instead.
