Hi,

ehh, docs is bogus as hell:

XViD is another development from the OpenDivX group (their first development
was DivX4).

it's the joke of the week...

opendivx was started and developed by Project Mayo at end of 2000,
and made public opensource at 2001 january

at 2001 april, they decided to stop opensource development, and continued
it as closedsource under name Divx 4
the  non-projectmayo people working on opensource code gets angry, and
forked, and continued development of opendivx under the name xvid.

so, there was a fork of opendivx devel at 20001 april, one brach is
closedsource divx4 (now divx5), the other is opensource xvid

there is no thing called opendivx group
and xvid is not anouther development by them, it's the continueing of
opendivx (not divx4, they started at the same time by different people)
