no, it does nothing with your patch
it wa sjust too many bugreporst about nonworking uninitialization of libvo,
and crashes caused by not exiting if some init fails. rtfml.
i spent last night to cleanup too messy mplayer.c a bit, and remove unused
stuff, and fix order of init/uninit sequence.

anyway, don't your patch only affects dec_ahead.c or so?
anyway 2: i thought you already forkes, so you aren't intereste din changed
made in old brach, your patch si already applied in mpxp cvs...
this is why i removed your very silly and useless max_benchmark code
