This makes no sense. The only people using this are those compiling a
Debian package from our sources. Why on earth would they want to give
up their specific CPU optimizations? This flag should only be used for
binary packages, and for binary packages people will turn to the
Marillat packages.

Does this really work for you? I have
vo=xmga,mga
in my config file, however xmga does not fall back to mga, it just
fails. Shall I provide more details?
