yes qasf.dll is a ds filter (ASF Reader) but needs WMVCORE.DLL (2mb)
the whole asf need to be passed to it. Mplayer should implement a sort of ds graph.
In windows:
asfreader->dmo wmv decoder->videorender
|->dmo wma decoder->audiorender
