Our university just started using spam assasin. It scores
the mail acording to his rules and sets a header. I filter
all mails with a score of +7 to a separate spamfolder and
no false positive in the last 2 weeks. 

Maybe we could use such a method for the mailinglist too. 
Filter all mail with a high score or make the list for those
mails moderated (have someone look over the spam and commit
only the false positives).
