Subject: MPlayer codecs for Windows Media 9 files

Hi there, this might not be any new information, but I thought I should
share this with you guys so you can put it in your site if it hasn't
been done already. I was unable until now to play some windows media 9
streams from MPlayer, even with the win32 codecs I downloaded from your
site. All I could get was the sound but no video. I have windows XP on
another partition with Windows Media player 9 installed and it plays the
stream without any problem. So I tried to copy some codecs from my
windows installation and I finally found out that I could get windows
media player 9 file compatibility by copying the file "wmvdmod.dll" from
C:\windows\system32 into my /usr/lib/win32. That's all! I'm sure some
other people have had the same problem trying to play some recent
streams/files encoded in win Media 9 format. Might be some good idea to
include that file in your wine32 codecs package! Or just tell everyone
:)
