Sorry, i dont read this thread from the begining, just last gabu's post.

But back to the topic, there is no need to add "-lpangoft2-1.0".
"FT_Get_First_Char" is in libfreetype, not in libpango.

Looks like "freetype-config" on debian is from "freetype1", while
mplayer needs freetype2.

DRFI> 2, MPlayer does not use pkg-config. That's gtk2 stuff, and MPlayer
DRFI> does not support gtk2.

Afair, someone porting it to gtk2... nevermind...
