[MPlayer-dev-eng] Using mplayer and mencoder simultaneously

Hello list,

I've reached mplayer-list from freevo list. I've been using mplayer for
a long time, but never had the necessity of using mplayer and mencoder
at the same time, but with freevo you need it if you want to watch TV
while recording in your computer (you can do this easily with a TV box
attached). As you can imagine you can't do that because the /dev/video
device is busy

I've been thinking in the possibility of calling mplayer/mencoder inside
mencoder/mplayer to avoid this problem. Is this feature planned for
futere versions? Is it in the mplayer roadmap? or perhaps is it
definitively impossible?
