This is odd now.  I have a local display to test on now, and it acts
differently from the VNC display I've been using.

ggi local crashes (sig11)
ggi remote shows garbage
x11 local shows garbage
x11 remote crashes (sig6)

I still haven't tested any of svga, vesa, because I don't have root
on this box.

Proper bugreports will be sent to -users soon, unless I can trace and
patch it myself.
