Agree. Make them required.

Tsumari:

There MUST be an index at the end.
There MAY be indeces at the beginning or in the stream.
Exception: Livestreams have no index (for pretty obvious reasons).

This looks like a good compromise.

Dear, now my contribution so far was: "great work, continue!". Well, at
