Yes. The fundamental problem is that GNU autoconf "configure" searches
for crud that happens to be installed on your system, enables it, and
links to it, so unless you go to great lengths to hide things from
configure at build time (hack configure, "chroot", or "cc -nostdinc"),
you might as well just resolve to include everything possible.
