Then I think the best is to play a little bit with the subtitles
palette. They are 4 colours, finding which one is/are the transparent
background is quite easy, then you just need to replace them by the
alpha and color indicated at the command line.
One detail is the size of the rectangle containing the subtitles. Last
time I was playing with that code it didn´t reduce the rectangle to the
minimal size and I added code for it, but I think that patch didn´t get
in. The point is that some DVDs defines subtitles as bitmaps that uses
the whole screen, so if mplayer doesn´t reduce the size of the rectangle
you´ll paint the whole screen with gray ;-)
Tell me if you want to play with the idea I mentioned above, if not
perhaps I´ll play with it.
