there is an updated version, with almost complete steram layer impl.:
        mplayerhq.hu/~arpi/mplayer-G2-preview2.tar.gz

supports file, fifo, http, pnm, vcd, dvd, cdda

missing:
- mms, mmst (i'll add it tomorrow)
- rtp (dunno, maybe i'll add it)
- smb (someone should add it, i can't test)
- cue (i'll add it)
- cddb (i'll add when i/we decided a common generic format for exporting
  metadata like track names, dvd languages, http metadata etc)

ok it's not almost complete it seems :(
