hmm, and any idea about this: (just tried -vo dbfmga with 0.9.17)

i've modprobe matroxfb_accel, matroxfb_misc and matroxfb_base before trying it)
so i have in dmesg:
matroxfb: Matrox G400 (AGP) detected
matroxfb: MTRR's turned on
matroxfb: 640x480x8bpp (virtual: 640x26208)
matroxfb: framebuffer at 0xD2000000, mapped to 0xe09c9000, size 33554432
Console: switching to colour frame buffer device 80x30
fb0: MATROX VGA frame buffer device

(it's a G400MAX 32MB SGRAM card, head2 connected to PAL TV)
