Patch your local copy to spit out less info.
AFAIK, no such thing will happen in mplayer cvs.
But, for the purposes of your project, using a
patched or non-standard mplayer should be acceptable.
Look around for mp_msg, printf, and fprintf in the
source code.  -dev-eng can accept no responsibility
if you remove too much code, though.  :)
