I got similar reports from a friend.

My first investigations showed, that the change that caused this
was between march and end of april (that were the two mplayer
versions i had currently at hand). I wanted to further invesigate
but didnt find the time yet. I guess it'll have to wait (on my side)
until after the lug-camp next week.
