I recall having a small issue with gcc not getting the correct altivec 
flags (-maltivec/-faltivec) but i'm not getting those errors now; i 
cannot remember if it was because i patched the source, or I just set 
up my build env correctly ;)

Could you please have someone in darwin who had those problems apply 
the patch i sent to the list a week or so ago to a clean 1.0pre2 
tarball, or try CVS?
