Hi,
Perhaps you've already noticed that since a few days a Bink player is
availible for Linux. The player is availible from http://
www.radgametools.com/bnkdown.htm.
Some info about the player (single file, linked to SDL, ogg, vorbis and
smpeg):
$ ls -lh BinkPlayer
-rwxr-xr-x 1 niek users 354K Aug 27 20:49 BinkPlayer
$ file BinkPlayer
BinkPlayer: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/
Linux 2.2.5, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), not stripped
I think this player makes it a lot easier to develop native Bink codec support
for MPlayer (as discussed here: http://mplayerhq.hu/pipermail/
mplayer-dev-eng/2003-July/thread.html#19725).
Anybody here who have the time and skills to develop a native Bink codec?
Thanks in advance,
Niek.
BTW: some info about Bink files can be found here: http://www.pcisys.net/
