Unfortunately I'm away from my Linux test machine this week, so it's not 
convenient for  me right now to test this myself.

However, as long as things continue to work OK for people who follow the 
instructions (notably, step 4) in <http://www.live.com/mplayer/>, then I 
have no objections.
