Do you really expect me to attach several videos
with about 100MB each ?

I don't think so.

Thus, I provided the mplayer console output which showed
that mplayer detected and played the video.

I'm not sure. I have two MPEG-PS musicvideos with the
'missing marker bit' and mplayer makes no troubles.

Well, it plays the videos nicely with my patch. And that's enough
for every user. It may be that this or that pixel is shown wrong, but
hey, do your eyes make notice of them ?

If a good header exists at all. The question is, is this bit really
needed ? mplayer seems to detect the mpeg format nonetheless.

I take this as 'use Xine or VLC if you are not happy with mplayer'.
The videos have been captured from TV, btw ...
