This patch permits to enable lowres decoding when the width of the 
decoded video
is >= a threshold value, e.g.
-lowres 1,1024 enables lowres for w >= 1024 and 0 otherwise.
Of course it works without changes if
the second parameter is not specified.

I find it useful to play dvb channels and playlist with varying frame 
widths
(so I can blindly add this option in ~/.mplayer/config and trigger 
lowres only for hdtv).
