Because it is very broken: Functionally speaking and from the point of 
view of the design.
I used to use it, but it became very difficult to follow the "main" 
mplayer development because, most of the time, you simply COULDN'T 
replace the "built-in" copy of the mplayer binary with a new one.
For some reasons the code also requires TWO separate mplayer binaries 
embedded inside the appwrapper.
Moreover the up-to-date source code is not available, so there's no way 
to fix it (assuming it's actually possible).
