Hmm... That's an argument.
Not that SSA is a fucking stupid design, but they also made incompatible
changes.

Yes, that's another problem. The only 100% specs compliant ssa file i've
seen sofar was from a softsubbed mkv.
That's why it's so hard to make a proper SSA reader :(

Nope, it's most time just left out.

Yes, it's needed, but there are a lot that just omit it and use the
Default style.
