resampling + 8b -> 16b led to noise. However, this may be the resamplers

It also decreases the amount of buffers, making the volume control - 
when using af_volume - much more responsive. I found there was little 
skipping on my eMac.

With this, it seems there aren't all that many reasons to call ao_macosx 
broken :)
