Please reverse it again. It has guite a few flaws that
might and imho will break things in some cases.

I know a bout this patch, but never had the time to fix it,
thus i never applied it.

Unless someone comes up with a really clean patch, that
can be just applied, this has to wait until i'm back in europe.
