This looks strange. Where did you try to compile the driver. Did you
copy the files into mplayer tree (seems so) or standalone.

Try the following (this is how I use it):
1) extract mga_vid-2.6.tar.gz file into an empty directory
2) enter mga_vid-2.6 subdirectory
3) make
--> now you should have an mga_vid.ko file.

What is you kernel version?
