The samples under
ftp://ftp.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/samples/MPEG-VOB/vdr-AC3
do their job. With my patch this plays nice Dolby 5.1 sound on my amplifier:
# mplayer dbloms_pro7.vdr -aid 128

But I can provide more samples if needed.
