The problem is that if you write HIM a mail, I don't see how I may get a 
copy of it!
The reason why I sent that patch (at the time, I didn't know that using 
"passtmpfile" was the rule, as I don't know MPlayer's internals) is just 
because I wanted to provide a small patch that conformed to the one 
feature, one patch and the corresponding manpage update.

I'd really appreciate if you could stop using that tone with me. You 
really have to understand that I'm just trying to help, ever if my help 
is somehow/sometimes unappropriate.

Sorry, last time I checked, I got confused with vd_xvid.c file...
