I'm not going to strongly disagree, except to say that some users have a
remote control, not a keyboard... There are far fewer buttons on my
remote for obvious reasons.
You also said that we shouldn't override the fastforward keys to do
frameskipping when in pause mode because you might hit it accidently
when not in pause mode... Well perhaps I misunderstood, but isn't frame
stepping most useful only when you are in pause mode anyway? Would you
really be trying to engage it when the video was passing by at full
throttle anyway?
I might have misunderstood the intention of the patch, but I find it
occasionally useful in other video players to be able to pause on a
specific scene and then flick around frame forward and back to try and
see exactly what is happening. Think football and whether the ball hit
the line (or magic tricks is another good one!). I thought that this
was what this patch was trying to achieve?
Just a thought anyway....
