Lokks nice. However it still won't work for me, but at least I've found
out why. It's not related to this patch, it's that /bin/sh on my system
links to /bin/ksh, which doesn't pass return value via the (...)
construct. That means it will enter the GTK+ part even if pkg-config
returned false. Temporary fix is changing /bin/sh to /bin/bash at
./configure start ;)
