Unfortunately, I don't have some with "just" MPlayer, for it's not
possible yet to compile it completely....
It just "feels" faster, just like 2.95 seems faster (and IS) on my machine...
But I guess I could compare with some files such as
"motion_estimation.c" (from the top of my head) which takes some time
to compile. It's maybe not a good exemple for it contains a great deal
of asm, I'm not a compiler expert, I don't know what is supposed to
take lots of time in a compiler (I'd guess register allocations as
gcc-4.0's reg. allocator seem very experimental).
So, let me find the time to send a nice bench of some files in a day of two.
Regards,
Guillaume
